New to Medicare step by step

  1. If you are still working, you want to check if staying on your group coverage or signing up for Medicare is a better option. Do this before you take the next step.  I can help you make that decision.  If you are enrolling after delaying Part B please contact me for step 2.
  2. Sign up for Part B of Medicare.For most people taking social security or RR retirement they will be auto enrolled. You will get a letter that needs to be filled out and returned if you wish to delay Part B coverage.  You will receive your card about 3 months before your birth month.  If you are not taking Social security then you will need to apply for Part B coverage.  You can do this online here. https://secure.ssa.gov/iClaim/rib .  I can help with the process.  Cost for part B 2022 https://www.medicare.gov/your-medicare-costs/part-b-costs
  • 3. Be educated on ALL theMedicareoptions available to you. Meet with an agent like myself that is licensed and CERTIFIED to sell all the types of Medicare plans. I explain all the options available and after narrowing down the option best for you, then we will decide on the company that is best for you.
  • 4. Apply for coverage. You can apply for coverage during your initial election period 3 months before your birth Month, your birth month, and the 3 months after your birth month.
